The owner of two pit bulls has been cited after Thursdays attack on a south Bibb County woman.
Amber Tripp was charged Monday with two counts of failure to restrain the dogs and two counts of failure to inoculate the dogs.
Deputy Lee Mock, who shot and killed both dogs that charged him during the investigation, issued the misdemeanor citations Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriffs Office.
Margaret McNicholas, 69, suffered a broken wrist and deep wounds to her head and legs when the dogs came after her Thursday afternoon on Houston Avenue. She lost a lot of blood.
Her tenant Anthony Bryant is credited with saving her life after he used a broom to shoo the dogs away.
Tripp was out of town when the dogs got out of their pen that backs up to McNicholas property which borders Skyview Mobile Home Park.
The Bibb County District Attorney conferred with investigators last week and decided not to file criminal charges. Deputies consulted with the Bibb Solicitors Office to determine which misdemeanor charges would be appropriate.
