Steve Smith will be sworn in as the Bibb County school systems interim superintendent at noon Monday.
The ceremony will be held in the fourth floor board room at 484 Mulberry St. State Court Judge Bill Adams will officiate.
School board members approved Smiths contract May 21. The system bought out the contract of former Superintendent Romain Dallemand three months ago. His last work day was Feb. 26.
A native of Macon, Smith is a former principal of Central High School. He has also taught or held leadership positions at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon and Clark Central High School in Athens. Most recently, he served as superintendent of the Lowndes County and Pulaski County school systems. He also has served as a faculty member for the Valdosta State Universitys College of Education.
