Macon police release details in Forsyth Road convenience store hold up

A gunman robbed a north Macon convenience store at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police were called to the Walthall Exxon gas station at 4433 Forsyth Road after a man pulled out a silver revolver and demanded cash, according to a Macon police report.

The female clerk handed over the cash register drawer, the man grabbed a couple hundred dollars in cash and ran away toward the back of the store, the report stated.

No one was physically hurt in the hold up.

The report described the robber as a black man, between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, and about 165 pounds.

He was wearing all black clothing, including a hooded shirt and mask over his face, according to a Friday afternoon news release.
