The Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation Department announced the summer schedule for public swimming pools Wednesday.

The East Macon, Memorial Park and Booker T. Washington pools will open June 4, according to a news release. The opening of the Bloomfield pool will be delayed due to improvements being made there. Upgrades also will delay the opening of the pool at the Frank Johnson Recreation Center. No date for either pool’s opening has been set.

Freedom Park’s pool will be closed for the season.

Pools will be open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays this summer. Contact each recreation center for times for swimming lessons and open swimming.
