WARNER ROBINS -- An arrest warrant on the charge of murder has been issued for 21-year-old Quintavious Horton, Milledgeville police said.

Horton is sought in fatal shooting at the American Legion at 430 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, a Milledgeville news release stated.

Police were dispatched to the incident at 1:54 a.m. Saturday.

Kenneth Simmons, 22, was shot once in the chest with a semi-automatic handgun and later pronounced dead about 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Oconee Regional Medical Center, where he had been taken by car, the release stated.

Milledgeville police Maj. Reginald Hill said witnesses told police some sort of altercation took place outside the American Legion just moments before shots were fired.

“I guess from that it turned violent and gunplay got involved,” Hill said. He said Simmons did not have a weapon.

Horton is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous, the release stated.

Anyone with information into this case, or that knows the location of Horton is urged to contact Milledgeville police communications at (478) 414-4091, the police tip line at (478) 414-4074 or a detective at (478) 414-4065.
