Country acts Hayes, Moore headlining National Fair concerts

Hunter Hayes will perform Oct. 5 at the Georgia National Fair in Perry.


PERRY -- Big-name country stars are coming to the Georgia National Fair this year.

Hunter Hayes, along with Love and Theft, are scheduled to perform Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Justin Moore and Thompson Square will perform Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Hayes is a Billboard Awards nominee for Top Country Artist as well as Top Country Song for “Wanted.” He has also named Country Music Association’s Best New Artist of 2012.

Hayes performed with music legend Stevie Wonder at the Academy of Country Music Awards show.

According to Hayes’ website, he won the Teen Choice Award as the Male Country Artist of the Year, a BMI song-writing award for “Storm Warning” and was a nominee at both the Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMT Music Awards.

Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson were nominated for the ACM’s Vocal Duo of the Year.

In 2011, Moore won the Mainstream Inspirational Song of the Year at the Inspirational Country Music Association’s Faith, Family and Country Awards. Moore had his third No. 1 single with “Til My Last Day.”

Thompson Square has won the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Duo of the Year Award for two consecutive years.

For Sneak-A-Peak night Oct. 3, the free concert will be the Original Cornell Gunters Coasters, the Original Drifters and the Platters featuring Monroe Powell.

The fair also has added another free concert Oct. 8, with The Temptations and Grapevine scheduled to perform. Both free concerts start at 7 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. at and will be $30, subject to fees. Pre-orders will include gate admission into the fair.
