Northside High School will dedicate its band room Tuesday in honor of the school’s first band director.

The late Robert Hale was the founding director of the Northside Blue Wind Band, and he also was the first band director at Tabor Junior High School, which is now Thomson Middle School. During his tenure, Northside’s band was known as one of the top programs in the state, according to a news release.

The concert and symphonic bands will dedicate spring concert performances to Hale. The concert is 7 p.m. in the Ray Horne Theatre.
