Michael Koske is turning in his zombie makeup to play a part in the race crew in the movie “Need for Speed,” which is being filmed in Macon.

The Warner Robins resident has been in seasons 2 and 3 of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” television series.

He received a call Tuesday that he had been selected for “Need for Speed.”

“I originally applied for an oil change mechanic,” the 41-year-old said.

The director picked him out of a lineup to be in the race crew, and he will have a featured spot.

“They are casting a girlfriend for me,” Koske said.

He said he hasn’t read much about the movie, but he knows it is based on the popular video game series. Summed up, it is about fast cars running from police officers, Koske said.

The movie stars Michael Keaton, of “Batman”; Aaron Paul, of “Breaking Bad”; Dominic Cooper, of “Captain America”; and Imogen Poots, of “Fright Night.”

Although he has never worked as a mechanic, Koske said he works on his own cars, including his lime green Jeep, which can be seen driving through the streets of Warner Robins.

Koske reported for wardrobe Wednesday and started his role Thursday.

“I guess I’m glad I look like a young street racing punk,” Koske said.
