A Yellow Cab driver was shot in the neck early Wednesday in a holdup that began on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard at about 3 a.m. and ended in the Sofkee Industrial Park in south Bibb County.

Patrick Allen Etchison, 26, told deputies that two black gunmen, dressed in black with their faces covered -- one with a white mask and the other wearing an orange bandana -- demanded money in the Kmart parking lot, said Lt. Sean DeFoe, public information officer for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Etchison said he did not have cash but offered his 2000 black Mitsubishi Eclipse, parked at his south Bibb trailer, if they did not hurt him, DeFoe said.

The men ordered him to drive to get the car at the Pine Acres Mobile Home Park, off Hawksinville Road.

Etchison said he was told to drive the cab to the Sofkee Industrial Park, where he had to show them how to work the headlights before they robbed him of his cellphone, a gold ring and keys to the cab, DeFoe said.

Both gunmen started shooting, and the man with the orange bandana shot Etchison in the neck, he told deputies. He said the masked man hit him in the head with the gun.

Authorities issued a lookout for the black sedan with a rear spoiler and Georgia license plate PIG 4736.
