Mentally handicapped Macon man safely back home again

A 28-year-old south Macon man, who has the mental capacity of a child, returned home early Monday.

Derwin Eric Lawson, who went missing in downtown Macon at about 5 p.m. Friday and was originally found early Saturday near Broadway and Houston Avenue, left his Alanway Drive home shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, according to a Macon police news release.

Lawson returned home shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.
