Mentally handicapped man missing from downtown Macon

Derwin Eric Lawson is missing from downtown Macon.

Macon police need the public’s help looking for a mentally handicapped man who has been missing from downtown Macon since Friday evening.

Derwin Eric Lawson, who is 28 with the mental capacity of a young child, was last seen at about 5 p.m. Friday and had been spotted on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and on Third Street, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

Lawson was wearing a red T-shirt and blue shorts and was likely headed toward south Bibb County.

Anyone who sees him is urged to call Macon police at 751-7500.
