A Warner Robins man wrecked his motorcycle early Wednesday morning trying to avoid a deer in Laurens County.

Patrick Brackett, 28, told Georgia State Patrol Trooper 1st Class Keith Collins that he encountered a deer on Rock Springs Road about a tenth of a mile from Ga. 19.

Collins’ report states Brackett applied the brakes and went into a skid before the 1998 Honda Shadow flipped and knocked Brackett off about 33 feet into the 67-foot skid.

Emergency operators got a call before 5 a.m. from the Fairview Park Hospital that the injured biker had arrived in a private vehicle at the Dublin medical facility, said a Laurens County 911 supervisor.

He suffered injuries to his abdomen and pelvis, according to the report.
