The TelegraphApril 12, 2013

Southbound lanes of Interstate 75 reopened about an hour after a 6-vehicle accident shut down the highway south of Pierce Avenue at about 7:50 a.m.

Macon police are investigating what appeared to be a chain-reaction accident on the slick road that sent at least one man to the hospital.

An ambulance picked up the 27-year-old driver of a pickup that had damage to the front and was hit from the rear.

At least two wreckers were needed to clear vehicles..

The Georgia's Department of Transportation sent out a major alert urging motorists to detour at Interstate 475 as cars and trucks had been at a standstill for several minutes until the road could be cleared.
