A 66-year-old woman died early Tuesday after a late night crash on Vineville Avenue.

Dorothy Hardy, who lived at Vineville Christian Towers, hit a utility pole just a few blocks from her home at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Hardy was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Jones said.

A Mid Georgia Ambulance crew discovered the wreckage of her 1998 E-320 Mercedes, which hit a pole at 2073 Vineville Ave.

Hardy struck the utility pole at a very slow speed, according to a Macon police news release. Hardy recently had a medical procedure and was en route to the hospital to seek additional treatment. It is believed that the accident was health related, according to the release.
