A Marshallville police officer won $1 million from a lottery ticket purchased in Fort Valley.

Tinichia Story, 25, collected her prize Tuesday, according to a Georgia Lottery release. She won it playing the instant game Maximum Green and bought the winning ticket at Family Food Mart, 402 S. Camellia Blvd.

“I scratched the ticket off and couldn’t believe it,” she said in the release. “It doesn’t feel real.”

She said she plans to use the money to take care of nieces and nephews and buy a new tote bag for her Yorkshire terrier puppy, Toby.
