Milledgeville's Ashlan Ramsey had a 1-under-par 71 on Thursday in the first round of the Nabisco Championship, the LPGA Tour's first major.

Ramsey, who has signed at Clemson and will join her sister Taylor with the Tigers' new program, was 2 over after three holes but fought back to get to even par at the turn. On the back nine, she had three birdies and two bogeys, and she hit 5-of-14 fairways and 12-of-18 greens in regulation.

When Ramsey ended her round, she was tied for 12th, three shots out of the lead.
