Georgia Artisan Center to open in Perry

A new Georgia Artisan Center featuring retail space filled with local artisan products is being started in Perry.

Initially, it will be located at the Perry Welcome Center/Convention and Visitors Bureau, located at 101 Gen. Courtney Hodges Blvd. Items such as jewelry, pottery, books, sculptures, paintings, textiles and food products will be sold.

A task force has been working on the idea of a such a center for more than a year. The vision is for the center to include live artisan demonstrations, classes and events. The nonprofit center is expected to open late this summer.

MOAA meeting planned

The Middle Georgia Chapter of the Military Officers’ Association of America will meet at 6 p.m. April 12 at The Landings Golf Club restaurant in Warner Robins. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by 6 p.m. Sunday to Bill Goodwin at
