When the Broadway cast of “Motown the Musical” appears Thursday on “Good Morning America,” Macon’s Sasha Hutchings is expected to be there.

Hutchings, who is playing Smokey Robinson’s first wife in the show written by Motown founder Berry Gordy, also sings and dances in the ensemble.

The production tells the story of Gordy’s rise in the entertainment business and his music label that launched superstars such as Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder.

The ABC morning program plans to feature the show beginning about 8:15 a.m. Thursday, said Dr. Billy Hutchings, father of the 2007 valedictorian of Central High School.

Hutchings is scheduled to perform during a segment that begins at 8:40 a.m.

“Motown” is scheduled to open April 14 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater.
