The Atlanta Braves begin the 2013 major league season against NL East rival Philadelphia. Tim Hudson is scheduled to pitch for the Braves against the Phillies’ Cole Hamels (7:10 p.m., Fox Sports South).

Others to watch: High school baseball (Jones County at Luella, Peach County at Southwest); Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks (7:30 p.m., SportSouth).

TUESDAY

Peach State showdown

The Mercer and Georgia Tech baseball teams have two of the best offenses in the nation. They face off at 6 p.m. at Claude Smith Field.

Others to watch: High school baseball (Windsor at Covenant, Southwest at Central, Rutland at Mary Persons, Warner Robins at Northside, Houston County at Jones County, Howard at Westside).

WEDNESDAY

Opening series continues

After taking the day off Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies resume their first series of the season (7:10 p.m., Fox Sports South).

Others to watch: High school baseball (Jackson at Howard, Brentwood at Mount de Sales); New York Knicks at Atlanta Hawks (7 p.m., ESPN).

THURSDAY

Wrapping up the opener

The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies complete their season-opening series (7:10 p.m., SportSouth).

Bring on the Cubs

The Atlanta Braves open a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs (7:10 p.m., Fox Sports South).

SATURDAY

Final Four

The national semifinals of the NCAA tournament will be played in Atlanta as Louisville plays Wichita State and Michigan plays Syracuse.
