Snow mixed with sleet is possible in Macon early Friday. Also, the National Weather Service is warning of high fire danger Thursday for most of the state and an expected freeze as far south as Middle Georgia.
Temperatures are expected to drop to freezing just north of Macon early Thursday, which could kill blooms and tender vegetation.
A freeze warning is posted from 4 to 11 a.m. Thursday including the Middle Georgia counties of Jones, Monroe, Baldwin, Putnam and Hancock
The NWS also issued a fire weather watch for Thursday afternoon and evening in all but extreme north Georgia as dry air is moving into Georgia with winds gusting up to 25 mph.
A chance of rain with possible sleet is forecast before 4 a.m. Friday.
Snow mixed with sleet is possible between 4 and 5 a.m. before a 40 percent chance of rain is expected after 8 a.m.
