Police need help finding suspected bank robber

Macon Police Department investigators have signed a warrant for the arrest of 31-year-old William Jeffrey Lowder Jr. on the charge of robbery by intimidation. William Jeffrey Lowder Jr.

Macon police have issued a warrant for a man they said robbed SunTrust Bank, 3600 Mercer University Drive at 1:17 p.m. Monday.

Police said William Jeffrey Lowder Jr., 31, walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. He did not display a weapon. The suspect drove off in a greenish-blue Honda Accord.

Surveillance cameras captured photos of Lowder during the robbery and after airing pictures of him, police said they were able to quickly identify the suspect.
