Warner Robins man accused of practicing dentistry in Macon without a license

Published: March 19, 2013

Bibb County grand jurors indicted a Warner Robins man Tuesday on an allegation he practiced dentistry without a license at Just Dentures, 4380 Pio Nono Ave., in Macon.

Charles Joseph Hortman Jr., 59, allegedly “examined the human oral cavity and supplied dentures” on March 13, according to the indictment, filed Tuesday in Bibb County Superior Court.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s licensing board received a tip and launched an investigation, said David Cooke, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney.

Cooke said Just Dentures is a family-run business that’s been open for several years.

Reached at a phone number listed for Just Dentures, Hortman said he hadn’t heard about the charge. He declined further comment.

Cooke said a warrant will be issued for Hortman’s arrest.
