A Houston County boy mauled by a dog in Macon last week was being treated Monday at a hospital in Massachusetts, family members said.
Five-year-old Anthony Ivey was attacked by a pit bull Thursday at a house where his great-great-great-grandmother works as a maid. He was flown to Boston on Saturday to undergo treatment for head wounds.
Charles Gay, 59, who lives at the Ousley Place home where the incident happened, was jailed on a child-cruelty charge. He has since been released on bond.
While the boy was being attacked in Gays backyard, a man who lives next door raced over and rescued the child.
The boys grandmother, Rosemary Armstrong, 78, said Monday, I hope and pray that everything will be all right.
