A Lizella man had been missing about two weeks when his body was discovered shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday in a ditch near Central City Park.

Mark L. Nixon, 29, was face down between a park fence and the railroad tracks and had been there a “significant amount of time,” according to a Macon police news release.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday on Nixon, but Jones could not initially determine how Nixon died.

“There’s nothing unusual, nothing stood out,” Jones said.
