Central Georgia Health System, the parent company for The Medical Center of Central Georgia, is looking for enough votes to receive funding for a cancer support program.
Central Georgia Heath was selected as a candidate for the Livestrong Foundation Community Impact Project, which offers $1.2 million in funding to hundreds of organizations nationwide, according to a news release.
Finalists will be determined through an online voting campaign that runs until 6 p.m., March 28. Web sites with the top votes per region will receive financial awards for programs that have shown success in improving the lives of people affected by cancer.

If selected, The Medical Center would use the funds to expand its artists-in-residence program established with funds from the 2012 Livestrong project. The program helps cancer patients deal with the stress of diagnosis, treatment or recovery through artistic expression.
