Bibb schools seeking discipline feedback

Published: March 12, 2013

Bibb County residents are invited to participate in the school district’s latest discipline task force meeting Thursday.

The session will start at 2 p.m. at Bibb County schools’ Welcome Center at 2003 Riverside Drive in Macon.

The district instituted the discipline task force meetings in May 2012, bringing together staff, parents and community members to discuss safety and discipline issues such as the system’s student code of conduct, parental involvement, evidentiary hearings and student suspensions. Bibb County will host another discipline task force session May 23.

Task force members will use the input that comes from those sessions to make recommendations to system leadership about a district safety plan.

For more information about the meeting, call Terrell Smith, the district’s evidentiary hearing officer, at (478) 779-2583.
