Macon office equipment company buys Warner Robins business

Published: March 11, 2013

Macon-based Federalgraphics has purchased the assets of Warner Robins-based MTC Imaging Solutions for a undisclosed sum.

MTC Imaging Solutions is a division of Micro Technology Consultants, which was not part of the sale. Former MTC Vice President Paul Thomas said he and his business partner, Phil Sanders, were the only two employees of MTC, which sold copiers, printers and software -- the same products Federalgraphics carries.

The merger was effective Friday, he said.

Thomas formed the MTC Imaging division in 2008. Federalgraphics has been in business since 1994 and has about 20 employees, he said.

“We are pleased that both Paul and Phil have agreed to bring their combined 50 years of industry experience to Federalgraphics,” Ron Sparkman, president of Federalgraphics, said in a news release. “Paul will assume responsibility for sales and marketing of our diverse lineup of products and solutions to major commercial, government, and educational customers, while Phil will join Federalgraphics in a senior service position.”

Representing Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark and Riso, Federalgraphics not only operates sales and service offices in Macon but also in Columbus and Birmingham, Ala.
