Perry council cancels retreat

Published: March 11, 2013

Perry City Council has postponed its retreat after Councilwoman Phyllis Bynum-Grace’s son passed Sunday evening, according to Mayor Jimmy Faircloth.

The council had planned a retreat, which the city calls a planning session, for Tuesday evening. Faircloth said it will now be held sometime in April.

“There are things on the agenda that I think it’s imperative to have everyone there for the discussion,” he said.

Faircloth said the councilwoman’s son, in his 40s, died after a fight with cancer. The funeral will be held Friday.
