Woman killed in motorcycle accident on Interstate 75 in south Bibb County

A Stockbridge woman died Sunday night after crashing her motorcycle at around 8 p.m. on Interstate 75 in south Bibb County.

Takisha Pittman, 33, was traveling north with a group of motorcyclists who were approaching Sardis Church Road where a van with a flat tire had pulled off the far left lane in front of them, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The lead motorcyclist had signaled to the rest of the group when Pittman lost control, hit the saddle bag of the motorcycle in front of her and went down.

She was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where she was pronounced dead at 8:49 p.m.
