A 19-year-old Macon man accidentally shot himself in the leg early Friday morning while he pushed a car in the 1100 block of Edna Place, according to Macon police.
An officer spotted three men pushing a car out of the road just before 1 a.m. while the officer responded to a report of a burglary in progress. The officer then heard a gunshot and found the man had been shot, according to a police report released Friday.
A handgun was on the ground a few feet away from the man, who told police he had accidentally shot himself and then thrown the gun down, according to the report.
Another officer went to the apartment with the burglary complaint. The other two men pushing the car were questioned and then allowed to visit their injured friend at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, according to police.
No one was charged with a crime.
