Frank Reeves

Family members of the man who fatally shot a Jones County woman from his wheelchair in December are making preparations to bond him out of the Bibb County jail.

A Bibb County Superior Court judge granted 73-year-old Frank Reeves a $100,000 bond Thursday after his lawyer requested that the bond, which had previously been denied, be reconsidered.

Veronica Brinson, Reeves’ lawyer, said the judge’s order has not yet been filed.

She said the judge agreed that Reeves can be released if he lives with family, but must have an adult family member with him at all times. He must wear an ankle monitor and is only allowed to leave home for medical and court appointments.

Reeves is charged with murder in the shooting death of 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutt outside the Murphy Express station on Gray Highway on Dec. 4. He is reported to have told police he thought Hunnicutt was trying to hit him with her car.
