A 70-year-old man was attacked by two pit bulls at about 1:10 p.m. Thursday while rolling down Putnam Street in a wheelchair.
The dogs mauled the mans hand, causing severe damage, before a neighbor scared the dogs away, according to a Macon police news release.
The man was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment. The dogs owner was cited for failure to restrain and failure to inoculate, according to the release.
