Student art on display

The Fine Art Society of Middle Georgia is sponsoring a student art show and scholarship competition at the Houston County Galleria in Centerville. Art will be on display March 13-21 during mall hours. Admission is free.

Group taking nominations for Man of the Year

The JOY Foundation, Inc. is accepting nominations for its 2013 Man of the Year award.

Nominees must reside in Houston, Peach, Twiggs or Pulaski counties.

The JOY Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit group “dedicated to empowering others, particularly the youth, to become constructive members of the community,” according to a news release.
