Bad weather hitting Middle Georgia on Tuesday

Published: March 5, 2013

High winds are expected to hit Middle Georgia, which could also face severe thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service says winds of 15 to 25 mph, and gusts up to 40 mph, could topple trees and make driving difficult before 7 p.m. The warning is issued for most of Middle Georgia, including Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties.

Much of Middle Georgia is also under a severe thunderstorm watch through 9 p.m. Tuesday. That covers counties including Bibb, Butts, Crawford, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Peach and Putnam.
