Weekend fire destroys Houston County home

Published: March 4, 2013

WARNER ROBINS -- A mother and two teenagers escaped without injury from an Amelia Drive home that was destroyed by a fire Saturday, a Houston County firefighter says.

Deputy Chief Bill Smith said neighboring homes suffered fire and heat damage in the 3:20 p.m. blaze at 114 Amelia Drive off U.S. 41.

He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Centerville firefighters assisted the county in fighting the fire, Smith said.
