Men sentenced in 2010 bank heist

Two men were sentenced Wednesday in connection with a 2010 armed robbery at the Atlantic Southern Bank in Lizella.

Kerivonte Davis, 26, of Wrightsville, and Jimmy Brown, 25, of Fort Valley, previously pleaded guilty in federal court to armed bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release.

Davis was sentenced to 22 and a half years and Brown was sentenced to 12 years and three months, according to the release.

A third man, 27-year-old Gregory Green of Byron, previously had been sentenced in the case to serve nearly nine and a half years in prison.

The three men entered the bank on May 28, 2010, while wearing masks and carrying guns. They ordered employees to the ground and took more than $13,000. On Dec. 16, 2010, Davis and Green robbed an Atlantic Southern Bank branch in Bonaire and took more than $23,000, according to the release.
