Macon man stabbed with tire plug weapon

Published: March 1, 2013

A 59-year-old Macon man was charged with aggravated assault Thursday on allegations he stabbed another man in the chest with a weapon that resembled a tire plug, according to Macon police.

Harold Hicks, 44, of Log Cabin Drive, told police that David Chapman stabbed him about 6 p.m. following a struggle on steps at the apartment complex where both men live, according to a police report released Friday.

Hicks told police he didn’t realize he was stabbed until he saw blood on an object that looks like a tool used to plug a punctured tire, according to the report.

Chapman was released from the Bibb County jail Friday afternoon on $5,700 bond, according to jail records.
