Monroe County deputies charged a Macon man with marijuana possession following a short foot chase Thursday in Forsyth.
Terance Bernard Parks, 26, allegedly was trying to sell marijuana near Kimball Street. He led officers on a chase by running down Adams Street to Jackson Street and was apprehended near North Lee Street. Parks had 18 bags of marijuana and a digital scale, according to a sheriffs office news release.
Deputies served a search warrant at a Tradewinds Motel room in Forsyth Parks was renting. They found a gun hidden between the mattresses of a bed in the room, according to the release.
Parks is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, obstructing and interfering with a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held at the county jail on a $20,000 bond, according to the sheriffs office.
