The 2013 fishing season at Javors Lucas Lake in Jones County begins Friday. This year, the lake will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the end of June.

The lake will close for the months of July and August and also Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. It will reopen Sept. 6 and remain open Fridays through Sundays between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Oct. 27.

According to an water authority news release, the opening days and times are based on usage during the last fishing season. Some years the lake has been open on weekdays and holidays, but not in 2013.

The parking fee is $5 for bank fishing, $10 for boats and $100 for a season pass. Only electric or trolling motors are allowed at the reservoir.

The authority reserves the right to close the reservoir for fishing at any time without notice, in the event of wind or storm warnings or for maintenance.
