Bibb County Commission Chairman Sam Hart plans to announce Wednesday his intention to run for mayor of the new consolidated Macon-Bibb County government.

Hart will make the announcement at 11 a.m. at Mulberry Street Park, across from the Bibb County Courthouse.

Hart was elected chairman in 2008 and won re-election in November 2012.
