Power lines down in Perry; Wind advisory posted

Published: February 26, 2013

With the ground saturated from recent rains, trees and power lines will be vulnerable Tuesday to gusty winds that prompted a wind advisory from the National Weather Service.

Much of Middle Georgia and the Atlanta metropolitan area are expected to receive sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph through 7 p.m. Tuesday.

At 5 a.m. Tuesday on Third Street in Perry, utility crews were working to repair downed power lines between Sunset Avenue and the Georgia Avenue Extension.

As of 8 a.m., the crews had finished work on the line but a tree trunk was still blocking the road.
