The 23-year-old Macon woman who died after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday was not crossing Pio Nono Avenue at a crosswalk, according to a police news release Monday.
Chastity Johnson was crossing the 3900 block of Pio Nono shortly after midnight when she was struck by a tan 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 22-year-old man.
Johnson, who was wearing dark clothing, was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she died from her injuries.
A blood sample was taken from the Tahoes driver, and the case is under investigation by Macon police, according to the news release.
