Macon Police Chief Mike Burns will be out on medical leave until mid-March, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department. Deputy Chief Mike Carswell will handle Burns’ duties in the interim.
Burns had a medical procedure last week and is expected to be out of work for a few weeks.
The release stated that Burns appreciates the get-well wishes he has received.
