A 23-year-old Macon woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Pio Nono Avenue early Sunday.
According to a release, Chastity Johnson was crossing Pio Nono shortly after midnight when she was struck by a tan 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 22 year-old man.
Johnson was transported to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she died from the injuries she sustained in the accident.
A blood sample was taken from the driver of the Tahoe and the case is under investigation by Macon police, according to the release.
