Two men with a gun robbed E-Z Mart, 3010 Houston Ave., early Friday morning and struck a clerk in the head with the gun, according to Macon police.
Store clerks told police a customer playing an amusement machine at about 2:45 a.m. claimed he was having a problem with the machine. When a clerk went to the machine to help, a second man ran into the store with a handgun and demanded money, according to a news release.
The gunman went into the enclosed cash register area and struck a second clerk in the head with his gun. The men left the store, headed in an unknown direction after taking cash, cigarettes and the clerks cell phones, according to police.
Both men were last seen wearing blue Dickie brand jumpsuits. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
