Rickey Smiley brings love and laughter to Macon

Comedian Rickey Smiley will perform Saturday at the City Auditorium.

Comedian, television and radio show personality Rickey Smiley is coming to the Macon City Auditorium on Saturday, and he’s bringing friends.

The Love & Laughter Valentine’s Day Weekend Jam will feature Smiley along with Special K and the R&B duo Alexander O’Neal and Cherrelle.

The “Rickey Smiley Show,” which began in 2007 and is based out of Atlanta, reaches more than 50 markets across the country. Smiley has released eight comedy CDs, and he now has a sitcom, “The Rickey Smiley Show,” which airs Tuesday nights on TV One.

Smiley’s radio show is “a blend of laughter, community outreach, social political awareness and celebrity news,” according to his website.

He has made several television appearances, including Steve Harvey’s “Praise The Lord,” Tyler Perry’s “Meet The Browns,” Ice Cube’s “Are We There Yet” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” His movie appearances include “Friday After Next,” “First Sunday” and “Super Secret Movie Rules: Sports Underdogs.”

Alexander O’Neal and Cherrelle are best known for their duets “Saturday Love” and “Never Knew Love Like This.”
