Two armed men attempt to rob Macon man

Macon police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place just after midnight Thursday outside of a convenience store, 3609 Pio Nono Ave., a police according to a police report.

The victim told officers he was exiting the store when two black males approached him, one of whom was carrying a sawed-off shotgun and demanded his money. The victim said he struggled with the gunman and thinks he might have broken the shotgun. The two men then struck the victim on top of his head, then fled the scene in a gray Ford Expedition SUV, heading north on Pio Nono Avenue.

The victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information should contact Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
