Macon police are investigating an aggravated assault in which a 54-year-old man was struck several times in the head with a clothes iron Wednesday night, according to a police report.
The victim told officers he was standing outside his Dexter Avenue residence having an argument with a woman who lives with him. The victim told officers the woman came at him in an aggressive manner and that he pushed her away.
According to the report, the woman hit him in the head with an ashtray and that two other people -- a second woman and a juvenile -- then jumped him.
The second woman struck the victim several times in the head with the iron. The victim, who had several bumps and cuts on his head, managed to get outside and call police.
Police took the victim and first woman to the hospital for treatment, while the second woman, Brittany Shequala Collier, 21, of Log Cabin Drive, was charged with aggravated assault. She remains in the Bibb County jail on a $9,550 bond.
