Floyd starts strong on eGolf Tour

Published: February 14, 2013

Macon's Taylor Floyd, who is playing in his first full professional season, shot a 6-under-par on Thursday in the first round of the eGolf Tour's Palmetto Hall Championship.

Floyd, a former FPD and Augusta State standout, is tied for the lead with Wes Roach and Thomas Curtis for the early lead in the round.

Floyd's round included seven birdies and one bogey.

“The wetness made the golf course play wider, and I got a few lucky breaks off the tee because of that,” Floyd said. “Outside of a long birdie on 18, most of my shots were pretty close to the hole, to be honest. I hit a lot of good irons on the day.”
