Macon-Bibb assistant fire chief retires

Published: February 13, 2013

After more than 40 years, Macon-Bibb County Assistant Fire Chief Cliff Rushin has retired from firefighting.

Rushin was promoted to assistant chief in October 2008, about six months after Marvin Riggins was appointed chief of the department.

A retirement reception was held Wednesday to honor Rushin, who joined the department when he was 21.

The vacant assistant chief position is being advertised on the city of Macon’s website.
